Finding Balance in Vaccine Administration

“Dr. Lisa Jacobson’s life has been with horses.  She started riding at age seven and quickly thereafter could be found in the barn brushing horses, cleaning stalls and doing anything possible to be with her beloved horses.

After seven years in FL as a hunter jumper trainer she started undergrad and immediately started veterinary school after graduating.  She graduated from Colorado State University Veterinary School at 34 yrs old in 1999.  After an incredible equine ambulatory internship at the (then) 22 Doctor Peterson Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, Florida – she moved to MT and started an equine ambulatory practice.  After practicing for about 4 or so years, she started learning all she could about homeopathy, various types of body work, herbs and anything else that would be helpful in helping horses.  In 2013, for personal reasons, she moved to CO.  At that point she had about 5,000 horses in her practice in MT.  Once in CO, she worked for a year for an in-home hospice/euthanasia service.  She missed the horses, so she started subcontracting for LeClair Equine in Berthoud.  In 2019, her personal life again took a twist, and she became mostly retired.

While in MT, she spent several years as President of MT Horse Sanctuary.  During this time, she became very involved with rescue work.  She has continued the rescue work that has been part of her life for 20+ years and today her pastures are full of horses with back story’s that have ended in their forever home.”
