Kate Coleman - Morrison

Holistic Trainer | Eventing & Dressage | Equine BioScan Practitioner | BTMM Apprentice Trainer

Kate Coleman is an equestrian professional with over 25 years of experience training and developing performance horses. Her work blends classical training principles with a whole-horse perspective, focusing on the physical, emotional, and biomechanical balance of both horse and rider.
Based in Ohio, Kate’s program centers on slow, thoughtful development that supports long-term soundness and sustainable performance across disciplines. She works with riders of many levels, integrating groundwork, correct biomechanics, nervous system awareness, and carefully structured ridden work to help horses develop strength, balance, and confidence over time.
Kate’s training philosophy is grounded in the belief that lasting success comes from addressing the horse as an interconnected system. Alongside her training program, she incorporates bodywork awareness, supportive nutrition, proper farriery, and ongoing evaluation of the horse’s internal health and stressors.
A committed lifelong learner, Kate continues to deepen her education through programs such as the Balance Through Movement Method (BTMM) and Rider Pillars, which explore the relationship between biomechanics, nervous system regulation, and functional movement in both horse and rider.
In addition to training and coaching, Kate offers Equine BioScan assessments, a biofeedback-based system used to evaluate stressors and imbalances within the horse’s body. These scans help horse owners better understand potential contributing factors such as diet, environmental stressors, and physiological strain, supporting more informed decision-making in collaboration with their veterinary and care teams.
Kate’s work reflects a simple guiding principle: when the horse’s body and nervous system are supported, true learning and performance can develop with greater ease, soundness, and longevity.
